I am sorry I am late posting about it but last week was a little bit crazy for me – nonetheless the painting is up on the walls, framed, and available ^^

Opening night at Auguste Clown!

All of the artists painted their sun sign – and mine is Virgo 🙂 For those who know me, or follow me on FB, you know I love astrology. It is something I have loved since I was a kid. I have always believed in “fated things”, “karmic relationships”, and that there is an energy flow which guides our soul a long a certain path.

I not only have my Sun sign in Virgo, I also have my Ascendant, Mars, and Venus all in Virgo so if you’re looking for a lady with an overload of the 6th sign well…look no further! Which is why portraying Virgo right was important to me.

Virgo is an Earth sign, so I portrayed her in a field of flowers with mountains in the distance. In the sky the constellations of Capricorn, Taurus, and Virgo (all of the Earth signs) are highlighted in pearlesant paint.

I find that there are really wonderful and really dark sides to all of the signs, but for mine the shadow side is really self criticism. I have the shadow side of my Virgo holding a Black Mamba snake – one of the most poisonous snakes on the planet, because self criticism to me is a venom that can paralyze the person if not kept in check.

Many people find Virgos too critical of those around them, when in actually it is merely a part of their light side. Virgo rules the 6th house of service to others, and there is no better sign out there to help you in a jam. We like fixing things, solving problems for others, but the ones we tend to ignore are those that concern ourselves. Virgos are typical seen with a sheath of hay to represent the harvest but for me it is the apple. I grew up in Maryland where there was a large farm where we would go to and pick several bucket loads of apples always around my birthday in September when they were ripe. To me it is symbolic for that season, and also one of my favorite parts of autumn.

The Virgo is a very misunderstood sign. I have never met one who was OCD, we may know where everything in our “mess” is but it certainly doesn’t equal Jack Nicholson in As Good As It Gets! We go out of our way to help people, and give real advice because we want to see others succeed – not because we are overly critical of you. If you have a Virgo friend remember we are very squishy on the inside <3 and love nothing more than loyalty, honesty, and feeling “safe” with our loved ones.

I hope you enjoy my interpretation of the sign Virgo! If you are interested in owning the painting email: info@augusteclown.com

Have a great week guys 😀
