“I Move the Stars for No One” – Labyrinth Piece Complete!

Hey everyone – my latest painting opens at Gallery 1988 today for their new show “3o Years Later”. In true Gallery 1988 style – artists were asked to make a piece inspired by movies created 30 years ago in 1986. Considering I was born late 1987 – it kinda makes me feel a bit old lol! The movie Labyrinth however did in fact come out in 1986 and therefore was my inspiration for this show. It was a tough call between that and Highlander… but I think I made the right choice in the end šŸ˜‰     I’ll tell you guys a secret though, I hadn’t...

“Of Golden Hearts & Feathers” – Hawk Painting Complete!

Hello my lovely friends! I am pretty excited to share this painting with you – over the past few weeks I have really grown attached to it, its process, its meaning and how it turned out in the end. In a lot of ways this really feels like the first painting of 2016 – even though IĀ  finished a few smaller works in January – this is the first full concept and large scale painting this year. As such, I wanted a brighter lighter painting which exuded the emotions or qualities I wanted to hold onto going forward from a rather tumultuous end of 2015…. and so “Of Golden...

“Unity” – Celestial Portrait Complete!

Happy holidays everyone! The days are getting darker up here in the north and evening candles and slippers are the norm. It has been awhile since I made a painting of my own inspiration/desire/wants, so creating this was really wonderful and healing. The idea has been circling my mind for a few months and it wasn’t meant to be something fancy or groundbreaking… it was really meant to feel uplifting and spiritual.     Ever since January, my spiritual journey has grown and evolved and settled into my artwork. To me it has been more about awareness of who we are, where we...

Heart Chakra – Into the Woods Painting Complete!

Hey everyone – here at last is my painting for Haven Gallery‘s “Into the Woods” show, opening October 10th 2015. The forest has always been a source of inspiration for me, as any of you who have followed me for awhile will have seen that pattern time and again! I grew up next to the woods. As a child is was this endless world, foreign and full of magic – so removed from daily life. As a teenager it was a place of respite. So it is always easy for me to imagine worlds centering around the woods – when you enter anything can happen.     My...

“The Golden Key” – Grimm Painting Complete!

Hey guys! So the next gallery show I have coming up is something very season appropriate… “Grimm Fairy Tales”. This show is for The Dream Factory in Frankfurt, Germany. It is always nice doing a show on my side of the world šŸ™‚ and everyone loves Grimm! Especially the dark, nitty gritty tales… however!! I decided to do something on the lighter side šŸ˜›       This is actually the 2nd Grimm painting I have done in my painting career, the first one was really dark with blood and missing body parts…all that good stuff. But for this painting I wanted to...

“Sisters of Babylon” – Sumerian Goddess Collab!

Hey guys! My first gallery show of the season is coming up and it is one I am very excited about. I took part in Modern Eden‘s last Artist Collab show back in 2012 and I enjoyed it so much that when they asked me to do it again I jumped on it! I picked Tammy Mae Moon to be my collab partner. Tammy and I have been friends for a long time, in fact she was a major inspiration for me when I started painting again back in 2011! We both love folklore and ancient stories and I knew we would have no problem at all coming up with a concept together ^^     So we started scheming! It...
